Catching Gloves

Rawlings Remix

My daughter’s go-to glove has been the Rawlings Remix for a few years now, and it’s held up really well through multiple seasons of 8U softball. We originally grabbed it on Amazon because it was affordable and had good reviews, but it’s turned into one of those pieces of gear she actually loves to use every time she hits the field.

Key Specs

  • Construction: Full-grain leather shell
  • Size: 11.5″ (youth sizing available)
  • Web style: Modified Trap-Eze
  • Position: Infield / Utility
  • Break-in: 80% factory, 20% player

Performance

The Remix is a surprisingly capable glove for the price. The Modified Trap-Eze web gives infielders a wide, easy-to-close pocket that’s great for scooping grounders and making quick transfers. It comes mostly broken in from the factory, so there’s minimal effort needed to get it game-ready. Young players especially appreciate how easy it is to open and close, and the pocket depth is just right for fastpitch.

Durability

Rawlings used full-grain leather on the shell, which holds up better than synthetic alternatives at this price point. After multiple seasons of regular use, the stitching stays tight and the pocket holds its shape. The palm padding does compress over time, but that’s normal for any glove with heavy use. For a youth or recreational player, it’ll last several seasons without issue.
